March 10, Thursday, 6:30pm-8:30pm: Intro to Sewing 101 - This course is a two part introduction to Sewing 101 for the person that would love to learn to sew and create their own garments, gifts and home décor and has no knowledge of sewing or would like to refresh rusty skills. Part 1 is a lecture that will cover the names and uses of tools and notions that are used regularly in home sewing. This will help you assemble a sewing kit for classes and your own sewing space at home. You will learn about all manner of cutting implements, measuring tools and ironing stuff! Sounds pretty boring, but it is a means to an end and then OH WHAT FUN! After that quick, dry lecture we will learn about the anatomy of your sewing machine. You will learn the name and function of the parts of the sewing machine ….This is also where you find out what you and your sewing machine are capable of doing together. Starting with the basics will give you the knowledge and confidence to become the creative textile genius you dream of. Class fee is $20.00. Toni Rollison, Instructor.
